Global Procurement Group has appointed Ralph Attard as its new Chief Technology Officer.
Ralph’s appointment aligns with the GPG mission to drive transformational change in global energy behaviour, moving towards a net zero business landscape.
Ralph joined GPG in 2019 as Head of Software Architecture, working at GPG’s Maltese subsidiary NGP EMS in Ta’ Xbiex. He successfully built GPG’s proprietary business energy pricing engine and coordinated the development of the group’s technology systems.
These included price comparison websites BusinessEnergyQuotes.com and EnergieSupermarche.fr, energy management system ClearVUE, and the group’s internal CRM systems.
In his new role, Ralph will oversee a tech-complement of over 100 employees across research and development hubs in Malta and India, as well as offices in the UK, USA, France and Italy.
On his appointment Ralph said: “I am excited to step into this position and lead GPG’s technology divisions. My priorities are two-fold: to improve our technologies through increased synergy and big data analytics; and to further innovate our energy management systems and procurement products. I believe we’ve built a team with the right talent and diversity of experience to achieve this.”
With over 17 years’ experience, Ralph has been exposed to all aspects of IT across various industries, having worked with Government Agencies, Outsourced Support, iGaming, and Energy. He has held posts such as a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Software Development Manager, Solutions Architect, Head of Technology, and Enterprise Architect.
Ralph earned his undergraduate degree in Computing and Information Systems from the University of London, a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from University of Hertfordshire, and an MBA with specialisation in IT Management from University of Leicester. This is complemented with various industry certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, and AWS.
His background and experience in software architecture and data platforms will ensure that the right mix of technologies is adopted to evolve the GPG’s tech stack for its set of fully integrated and high-performance cloud-based systems.
GPG Chief Executive Officer, Fokhrul Islam said: “I’m delighted at Ralph’s progress within Global Procurement Group. His appointment to Chief Technology Officer is a demonstration of our continued commitment to technological innovation that supports both the company’s and our clients’ growth as we move towards a net zero future.”
