Energy consultancy, NGP, named in Sunday Times Fast Track 100

Northern Gas and Power (NGP) has been named the north-east’s private business with the fastest growing sales and the UK’s 25th, in the prestigious Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100.

This follows the recent announcement it was the UK’s energy consultancy of the Year (50+ employees), at the prestigious Energy Awards.

Gateshead Quays headquartered NGP, part of Global Procurement Group (GPG), has had a stellar year, after posting revenue growth for 2018 of £29.6m and heading towards £40m, having achieved compound annual growth over the last four years of 148%, with profit growth standing at 144%.

Revenue growth has been a key factor in its success, but it’s also the growth of its people across the globe and its technology which has set it apart. Its ability to develop its own in-house energy management software and hardware through its energy lab – ClearVUE Systems, has enabled the business to respond to the rapidly changing energy landscape. This week it launched the first of ClearVUE’s technologies – Alpha.Lite – an innovative new energy software as a service platform, to help its customers manage their energy portfolio across a multitude of sites much more effectively.

Fokhrul Islam, CEO and founder of Northern Gas and Power said: “To achieve this position nationally in the prestigious Sunday Times Fast Track 100 is a great accolade for us. To be named the top north-east private business with the fastest growing sales is also great recognition of this talented team’s amazing efforts every single day. Right across the board, from sales through to customer service, training and technology, we are constantly pushing the boundaries to provide the very best service for our customers.”

In addition to new technology, the company has also launched two energy price comparison sites – Business Energy Quotes and Energie SuperMarché. Targeted to the UK and French markets these are the fastest and easiest low-cost, online business energy prices comparison sites available in their respective markets. Requiring minimal customer input, just business name and post code, can generate a comprehensive range of competitive tariffs from a variety of suppliers.

Also under the GPG global umbrella is Energies France, NGP Americas and ClearVUE Systems. GPG manages over 29TWhs of energy for tens of thousands of customers across the globe.
